Lisa Zhang

Acquisition Partner – Technology | Education (DMA and IHI), Online Marketing (Dentsu), and Finance (Alibaba)

Xue (Lisa) Zhang joined Addquire as an acquisition partner in 2016. She oversees sourcing, evaluation and acquisition of companies within the e-commerce, education, and technology sectors, among others. 

She has an extensive background in business development, marketing, business and strategic planning.

Lisa led the acquisition of Digital Media Academy, which was founded in Silicon Valley, Stanford University in 2002. After the successful acquisition, Lisa continued to grow and transform their business by implementing a new online business model and expanding sales, channels and products.

She also worked with Interactive International Health (IHI) where she helped build new marketing strategies and a client database to help narrow down decision making. Lisa also used advanced marketing techniques to promote their business through different social media channels to reposition the company’s brand.

Before immigrating to Canada in 2013, she worked with Alibaba, where she was in charge of building new sectors within the travel and hotel industry. Lisa was among the first to implement digital payment systems for traditional hotel chains and travel agencies in China, to help drive sales. She also implemented things like deposit payments, automatic agent commission sharing, client analysis through payment data, etc.

Lisa started her career off at Dentsu, one of the worlds largest advertising agencies, where she gained extensive knowledge in digital marketing in the international commercial business and worked with multinational firms like BMW, Sony, Yahoo, etc.
